This room was originally the garage for two fire trucks.  The windows behind the drapes where actually the doors that the trucks drove through.  We will remove these windows and put indoors that will open to a patio in the front of the house.  This "great room" will serve as our kitchen, dining room and family room.  Lots of work to do!
This furnace and ducting is now gone from the upstairs, as is the entire floor.  This loft had been used for storage in that past.  We knew the floor was too weak when our 5 pound toy poodle, Tank, walked across the floor and it started shaking!  The upstairs will have bedrooms for Emma, Hannah and Mackenzie, as well as a cool bathroom complete with the chimney at left.
An addition was added to the back of the Firehouse in the early 1950s.  The quality of this addition was no where near the quality of the original building.  Needless to say, the carpet, walls and ceilings to this addition are already gone, with the metal window close behind.  Rich has to pull out the floor below the carpet to "deodorize" the house!
Here's our home inspector, Rich, crawling out from under the house.  He was the only one brave enough to go down there.... multiple times!
