There is a 1,000SF mother-in-laws quarters on the back of the firehouse.  In order to get some "boxes checked", we've expedited the progress on this area.  The walls are done and have been painted (with some questionable colors... still working on this).  The cabinets have been delivered.  Doug the tile guy is now working on installing the hex tile on the counter tops.

Cindy has been perusing eBay for antique light fixtures and firehouse memorabilia (that's not TOO tacky).  We've had three pretty funky fixtures delivered so far!  This one will go in Cindy's office.  Another will go in Rich's office, and a third will go on the tin ceiling in the living room.

Ryan

Our most recent addition to Team Firehouse, is Ryan.  Ryan has been instrumental in stripping windows and doors, painting, and a bunch of other tasks!  Luckily we have him for a few hours each day before he goes to his lifeguard job.  He has even broken in late at night to stain cabinets to help us meet a deadline!

So you might be thinking "Wow, what a nightmare".  True, but the backyard actually looks WAY better than it did before!  We have now had a big concrete staircase removed, and had a bunch of old concrete ripped out.  Landscape plans are underway.  We'll be sure to partially cover this area.  Lots of bright sun back there that will shine into our master bedroom.
